Enrichment
In addition to academic and pastoral support, at All Hallows Sixth Form College we also offer a full programme of enrichment and provision for your next steps beyond Year 13. We have many opportunities for you to develop your leadership skills, for example as Senior Students, House Captains, Chaplaincy and Media.
Our Enrichment offer consists of three strands.
Firstly, each student in Year 12 and Year 13 attends one lesson per fortnight of Core RE. These lessons provide students with a fantastic opportunity to explore important issues and debates that impact all of us today, and we believe that this programme contributes to the development of our students into well-rounded young adults who are able to discuss and debate important themes with nuance and maturity. You will consider topics such as immigration, crime and society, modern slavery and fast fashion. These lessons do not require any preparation or homework, and provide a valuable opportunity for you to discuss topics you might not otherwise consider, and to learn about different opinions and perspectives. |
Secondly, in Year 12 all students attend one lesson per fortnight of Next Steps. This is our bespoke programme dedicated to preparing you to life beyond All Hallows. You can expect to develop your research and presentation skills, and prepare for CV writing, interviews and university applications. During these sessions you will be able to explore a huge range of opportunities that await you after College, including the world of work, apprenticeships and further study. |
Finally, we dedicate each Wednesday afternoon to your Personal Development. In the first half term of Year 12, this consists of whole year-group talks on a variety of topics, including an alumni panel where you will receive advice and tips on how to be successful at Sixth Form from recent students. After October half term, students are able to make their own choices from a wide range of developmental activities, according to their interest. Opportunities include tutoring, public speaking, sports leadership, community volunteering, Duke of Edinburgh, and online courses in topics such as British sign language, coding and personal finance. |

Students also have the opportunity to undertake an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) alongside their studies; please see the prospectus for more information. Whilst your academic success is of course important, Sixth Form is also a time for fun, for developing existing friendships and making new ones that we hope will last you a lifetime. We are keen for students to make memories during their time here that will last a lifetime. Each year, our Year 13 students organise the whole school All Hallows Week, putting on events to raise money for charities chosen by the Sixth Form. Supported by Year 12s, students take responsibility and work together to organise breaktime, lunchtime and after school activities for younger students. We also host a welcome party for Year 12s in September, a Christmas party and the Year 13 Leavers’ Ball, where staff and students celebrate the end of their time in the College. |
