16 - 19 Bursary Fund
The 16 to 19 Bursary Fund is a limited fund of money made available by the government to students whose access to education is inhibited by financial constraints or barriers. This means that you can get a bursary to help with education-related costs. It can be used to pay for things like clothing, books and other equipment for your course, transport and refreshments at College.
To consider your eligibility for a 16 to 19 ‘Discretionary Bursary’, our Finance Department will look at the individual circumstances of your household income. This is a limited fund and the value of the bursary will be at the discretion of the College. We urge you to contact us if you feel that your family finances may impact upon your educational chances.
We also provide the 16 to 19 ‘Vulnerable student bursary’ where you could receive up to £1200 if at
least one of the following applies:
• You are in or recently left local authority care
• You get Income Support or Universal Credit because you’re financially supporting yourself
• You get Disability Living Allowance (DLA) in your name and either Employment and Support
Allowance (ESA) or Universal Credit
• You get Personal Independence Payment (PIP) in your name and either ESA or Universal Credit.
Please complete the bursary application and send it to [email protected]
