Programme of Study
Students at All Hallows have a brilliant record of success. Through our wide and varied curriculum, we offer varied pathways and subject combinations so that students can study courses which help them to achieve their aspirations.
At All Hallows, students can choose from an extensive range of A Levels and BTECs (Level 3) as well as the Extended Project Qualification. Please refer to the Prospectus above for more detailed information. In addition to the formal subjects mentioned above, students will also study Core RE and engage in a range of ‘enrichment’ activities.
We will work with you to ensure you select the right subjects, related to your academic strengths and desired career path, and we will continue to advise you in order to optimise your chances of success. This process starts in Year 11, where we interview you post-application to discuss your hopes and ambitions. Enrolment on GCSE Results Day in August of Year 12 will see you register onto appropriate qualifications. Please note that students are expected to achieve a minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalents) in order to study at All Hallows Sixth Form College.
A Levels
Students starting at The College will choose three subjects to study throughout the two years, leading to final examinations at the end of the course. Some students may be given the opportunity to start on four A Levels.
BTECs
BTECs are more practical, applied qualifications. Assessments consist of a mixture of coursework and exams. Each course is nationally recognised and offers an excellent route of progression to either higher education, employment or apprenticeships. Students are offered the opportunity to study all BTEC courses or a combination of BTEC and A Level. The emphasis is on finding the right combinations of courses whereby each student is set up to be successful and happy.
