Links with Parents

We value the three way partnership between teachers and other school staff, students and their parents. This relationship is initiated during the Induction process when the new student, parent (s) and a senior teacher sign jointly the Home-School Agreement. This document affirms the expectations of the school, the parent and the child, concerning the student's years at All Hallows.

Each year, parents are invited to attend school on two occasions to meet with their child's Form Tutor during Student Monitoring Days. Students set themselves targets based on a discussion held with their tutor in the presence of a parent. There is also a subject consultation session held annually after school for each year group.

Parents are encouraged to use their child's school journal to raise minor issues with tutors or subject teachers. Matters of more serious concern can be dealt with by a phone call to school. If necessary, an appointment will be arranged for a more detailed discussion.

PLEASE NOTE- We do not normally meet with parents unless a prior appointment has been agreed. Please do not turn up at school without having made an appointment first. All teachers (including senior staff and the Headteacher) are occupied in teaching and other planned activites for the majority of the school day and are not available to meet parents without prior arrangement being made.

This website, and our twice-termly publication, News.com, are the main ways in which we keep parents informed.
