School Code

Our School Code of Behaviour arises from our Mission Statement, which helps us all to understand the need for mutual respect, kindness and equal opportunities:

All members of our community are "created in the image and likeness of God" and so deserve, and should receive equal love, justice, respect and opportunities for growth and fulfilment.

We expect all members of the community to follow the Code:

Respect faith in God

Respect yourself

Respect others

Respect the environment

Respect learning

The following guidelines demonstrate the ways in which we expect you to follow the Code:

  • in your daily life at school
  • on your journey to and from school
  • when you are at home doing your school work
  • at any time when you are acting as a representative of the school

Why are we here at All Hallows Catholic School?

We are all members of a Christian family called All Hallows Catholic School. We believe that God loves each of us and has given us special talents to serve Him and each other.

As students, you are here to learn and to achieve to the best of your ability. In anything you do, someone else may achieve higher marks. What is important to us and your family is that you do your best.

We expect you to try your best in your schoolwork, in extra-curricular activities and in your behaviour.

Try to help others in your form group and in all of your classes to achieve their best. You can do this by paying attention in lessons, taking an interest in their work and making sure you never distract others. Never do anything which will stop others from being able to learn.

As you move up the school, we will encourage you to take more responsibility for others, to care for them and to help them achieve.

Your teachers and your parents will help and support you as you travel on your own special journey from childhood through to becoming a young adult.

Remember also that as Christians we believe that God created us for a reason and has given us special talents and skills to serve Him and those around us. Remember to talk to God each day in your own special way.

Respect and consideration

As a member of our All Hallows community, we expect you to respect yourself, and show respect and consideration to others and the wider environment.

When we ask you to respect yourself, some of the things you should remember are:

  • Take a pride in your appearance
  • Wear your uniform correctly
  • Behave quietly and sensibly
  • Arrive at school on time and make sure you are always on time to registrations and lessons
  • Bring the correct equipment and books to school
  • Always tell a teacher if you are being bullied or treated without respect
  • Eat healthy foods and take plenty of exercise

When we ask you to respect others, some of the things you should remember are:

  • Walk sensibly and quietly on the left hand side of corridors and stairs
  • Carry bags in your hand, not on your shoulders
  • Help others who need assistance
  • Do not prevent others from learning

When we ask you to respect the environment, the things you should remember are:

  • Never drop litter
  • Pick up any litter that you see around
  • Never chew gum anywhere in school
  • Always leave your classroom tidy, with your chair under the desk or on top of the desk at the end of the school day
  • Take great care not to damage any part of the buildings or school furniture or equipment
